He was a 1944 graduate of Kingston High School, Kingston, PA. He also attended Wilkes College (now Wilkes University) in Wilkes-Barre, PA.
Toward the end of WWII, he served in the United States Army as a gunner achieving rank of sergeant. He was stationed in Japan shortly after the war.
Taki was an accomplished musician and played drums, percussion, trombone and trumpet. He was best known however for being a fine jazz pianist studying in New York with the famed composer/performer John Mahegan.
Along with brothers Alec, Frank, and Peter he owned and operated movie theatres in Forty Fort and Luzerne, Pennsylvania. He was also a partner in Alexander Brothers Coffee.
He was also an excellent amateur golfer and a member of Fox Hill Country Club in Exeter, PA.
He was a member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 32 Ross Street, Wilkes-Barre, PA.
