Charles Ray Alexander passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at the age of 79. Born in Gastonia, he was the son of the late Albert Aaron Alexander and Mary Elizabeth Lineberger Alexander.
Mr. Alexander retired from Colonial Pipeline as a Senior Station Manager with 35 years of service.
A veteran of the US Army, Mr. Alexander was a member of West Avenue Presbyterian Church.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Alexander was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 41 years, Sylvia Mae Scott Alexander; brothers, John and William Alexander; companion, Billie Posey.

His funeral service will be held in Founders Chapel of McLean Funeral Directors of Gastonia.
The Reverend David Lytle will officiate. Burial will follow at Gaston Memorial Park.
