Mrs. Vera Greer Alexander, age 88, of Ruston died at 2:30 a.m. on Tuesday November 20, 1990 in Alpine Guest Care Center in Ruston after a lengthy illness.
Services were held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday November 21, in the Buck Edmonds Memorial Chapel in Jonesboro with Rev George McVay, pastor of the Jonesboro United Methodist Church conducting the services.
Burial was in the Jonesboro cemetery under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home.
Mrs. Alexander was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Calvin Alexander Sr. and a son James Lamar Alexander.
Survivors include two sons, Gus Edwin Alexander and wife Emma of Clifton, Texas and Walter Calvin Alexander Jr. and wife Bettye of Shreveport; two daughters, Evelyn Tarver and husband James of Ruston and Eleanor Jones and husband Dewitt of Jonesboro; one daughter-in-law, Winnie Irby Alexander of Del City, OK.; one sister, Mrs. Ella Mae Woods of Woodville, Texas; five grandsons, William, Gregory and Walter C. Alexander III, James A. Tarver Jr. and Elwin D. Jones Jr.; five granddaughters, Karen, Ramey, Terri Rust, Alexa Baldwin, Rosalyn Ferriss and Janet Mott; 22 great-grandchildren
