Gladys Lee Callie Alexander of Rodessa, LA passed away Wednesday July 1, 2009 at Willis Knighton Bossier. Funeral services will be held 10 AM Monday, July 6, 2009 at Gorsulowsky Funeral Home Chapel in Vivian, LA. Internment will follow at Slaughter Cemetery in Rodessa, LA. The family will receive friends for a visitation Sunday the 5th from 2 – 4 PM at the funeral home.
Mrs. Alexander was born June 4, 1918 in Hall Summit, LA to William Lynn and Margaret Breedlove Corley. She was a resident of Rodessa for most of her life. She was a member of Rodessa First Baptist Church. She worked as a registered nurse at Schumpert Hospital for 18 years where she was the supervisor of the 3 – 11 PM shift. Mrs. Alexander was once the Mayor of Rodessa, she also served on the Rodessa Town Council and was the founder of The Boom Town Festival.
Mrs. Alexander was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brothers and sisters and her son-in-law. She is survived by her son, Terry Alexander of Rodessa, her daughter, Linda Prudhomme of Vivian, LA, her daughter-in-law Billie Alexander of Vivian, LA, her grandchildren, Todd Alexander and wife Jill, Jennifer Fontenot, Carrie Lanier and fiancée Chris Wright, Rena Worley, and Dub Harris, her great grandchildren, Seth Falgout, Paige Falgout, Dusty Harris, Kassie Harris, Peyton Alexander, Delaney Alexander, Tyler Lanier, Bryn Wright, and Kaitlyn Fontenot and a host of other relatives and friends. Pallbearers will be Bill Conley, Paul Conley, Todd Alexander, Tyler Lanier, Dub Harris and Seth Falgout.
