He worked at Spencer Chemical for 34 years. He was a founding member and elder of Pleasant Valley Christian Church.
Mr. Alexander was preceded in death by his wife, Treasey, who died in 1996; his two sons; and his parents, Roger and Mildred Alexander.
Survivors include one daughter, Shirley Frields of Niagara; one son, Robert Alexander of Evansville; one sister, Coreen Eblen of St. Louis; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home. The Rev. Jonathon Keys will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday and after 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
