Anna Christina Alexander, daughter of John and Margaret Abrahamson was born January 17, 1876 in Franconia, MN. She was baptized in the Chisago Lakes Lutheran Church of Center City.
In 1899 she went to Portland, OR where she was employed in office work in a hotel. In 1923 she was united in marriage with Ed Alexander. Mr. Alexander preceded her in death.
In 1951, Mrs. Alexander returned to Minnesota and resided in Lindstrom until she entered the Green Acres Rest Home at North Branch in 1955.
Mrs. Alexander departed this life on Saturday, July 28, 1956 having attained the age of 80 years, 6 months, and 11 days.
She is survived by a sister, Mrs. Alvina Engdahl of Shafer, MN, a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral services held from the Grandstrand Funeral Home in Center City, MN at 2:00 Tuesday afternoon July 31, 1956, the Reverend Wm. Erle Shields of Lindstrom Methodist Church officiating.
Soloist at the service was Mr. A. F. Oberg, who sang the hymns "Nearer to the Heart of God" and "Abide with me." He was accompanied at the organ by Mrs. Velma Sundberg.
Pallbearers were Elof Berggren, William E. Swanson, John A. Johnson, Theodore Carlson, Arthur Stenberg, and Lyle Johnsen.
Committal services were held at the Franconia Cemetery also on Tuesday afternoon.
