ALBA – Graveside services for Don G. Alexander, 69, of Alba, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 6, 2011, at Salem Cemetery, Alba, under the direction of Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba.
Mr. Alexander passed away Monday, April 4, 2011, at his residence.
He was born March 7, 1942, in Eddy County, New Mexico, to the late Ben and Marzee Parrish Alexander. He married Betty L. Taylor February 8, 1980, in Oklahoma. He lived most of his life in Alba. He was the Public Works Director for the City of Alba, Vice-President of the Economic Development Corporation of Alba, and on the Board of Directors of the City of Alba Library and Museum. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, and 2 grandchildren.
Survivors include wife, Betty Alexander of Alba; grandson, Josh Robertson of Alba; sons, Desmond Wade and Sharon Alexander of Sulphur Springs and Benjamin and Sandra Alexander of Virginia Beach, Virginia; daughters, Barbara Miller of Winnsboro and Kim and Casey Green of Quitman; step daughters, Donna Robertson of Alba, Kathy Robertson of Alba, Sandy Riggle of Chandler, and Rhonda and David Cathy of Quitman; sister, Shirley Alexander of Alba; 14 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
If desired, memorials may be made to the Alba Library and Museum or Salem Cemetery Association.
