GALVESTON — MaryAnn Cunningham, 77, received her reward of eternal rest on Saturday October 1, 2011 at UTMB.

Mary Ann was born March 12, 1934, to Bruce and Annie Belle Williams Alexander in Garwood, TX. She received her formal education in Garwood and later relocated to Galveston. While in Galveston, she met and married Robert L. Cunningham. While raising her family, she accomplished a 30 plus year career with UTMB, working in various departments and earning the credentials to become a phlebotomist. She also assisted her husband in starting and managing a Mobil Service Station for 34 years.

She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters: Gertrude Sims, Earline Johnson, Luella Robbins, Gracie Mae Edwards, Josie Ford, Ella Ray Alexander, and her oldest son, Wesley Cunningham.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory: husband, Robert L. Cunningham Sr.; sons: Robert L. Cunningham Jr. (Kathy), Ray Cunningham (Gerry), Wilbert Cunningham; sisters: Eula V. Wilson, Jola Aubrey (Wesley), Sylvia Smoots (Bernard), Ruth Davis Crawford (Harry); brother, Edward Alexander; 7 grandchildren, 2 great-grand children, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, October 7th, followed by a service celebrating her life at 10:30 a.m. in the chapel of Fields-Johnson Family Mortuary with Rev E.R. Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Park East Cemetery in Webster, TX.
