Charlotte Martha Aldridge, 79, died Friday, May 10, 1957, at the home of a son, Oscar Joseph Aldridge, 305 Valley Street, Cumberland, Maryland. She had been ill since February. She was born at Beans Cove, Pennsylvania to James John Riley and Martha (nee Oster) Bridges.

She married Oliver Perry Skelling Aldridge (Oliver T. was listed in death notice) on August 30, 1894, son of Leonard George Edward and Mary (nee Stirling) Aldridge.

She worked as a servant at the Windsor Hotel at 154-164 Baltimore Street, in Cumberland, Maryland, as per 1930 census. Her husband and son Francis were living there too.

Mrs. Aldridge was a member of the Church of St. Patrick and the Auxiliary of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen. She also was a charter member of the Ladies of the Loyal Order of Moose.

She was survived, in addition to the son whom she resided with, were two other sons Francis Lee Aldridge and Playford Aldridge of Cumberland, Maryland, a daughter, Ida Mae (George Lawrence) Coulter of Tampa, Florida; a brother, Jacob Bridges of Barrelville, Maryland; fourteen grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren.

The body was available for those paying their respects, Saturday, May 11, 1957, after 2 p.m. at the Hafer Funeral Home. A Requiem Mass was held Tuesday, May 14, 1957 at the Church of St. Patrick, 201 North Centre Street,
Cumberland, Maryland, followed by interment in the Hillcrest Burial Park, 10901 Mason Road NE, Cumberland, Maryland.

Pallbearers were Houston Lehnhardt, Edward Stein, Francis Chapman, Peter Meconi, William Emerick and Ernest Yaider.
