Canton Commercial Advertiser - Tuesday April 18, 1916
Abner Aldrich, at hone time a well known representative merchant of his village, died at the home of his sister, Mrs. W. J. Donaldson at Syracuse Wednesday as the result of illness from Bright's disease. The remains were brought here for burial Saturday and interment was made at Fairview. Mr. Aldrich leaves one daughter, Mrs. Glenn Fell of Potsdam and a brother and sister, Alvin M. and Mrs. Harriet Donaldson, both of Syracuse.

Mr. Aldrich was the son of the late Willard Alfrich of Canton and was for a long time engaged in the grocery business here with his brother, the late Edwin Aldrich. Later he conducted a grocery here and at one time was engaged in the furniture and undertaking business in Potsdam. For some time past he was in the employ of the Post Standard of Syracuse, but recently conducted a cigar and tobacco store in that city. He was sixty-one years of age.
