Kathryn L. Alderfer, Feb. 20, 1926 - March 9, 2001, Kathryn L. "Kate" ALDERFER, 75, 2321 Waterview Dr., Rochester, died at 4:15 p.m. Friday at her residence. Arrangements are pending at Foster & Good Funeral Home, Rochester.

Kathryn L. "Kate" Alderfer, Feb. 20, 1926 - March 9, 2001, Kathryn L. "Kate" ALDERFER, 76, died at her 2321 Waterview Drive residence at 4:15 p.m. Friday. She was in failing health for 10 months. Born in Rochester to Jess and Ina JAMES KNIGHT, she married Myron ALDERFER June 6, 1943 in Rochester. He survives. A lifetime Rochester resident, she spent several winters in Florida. She and her husband owned and operated Alderfer Cricket Hatchery and the Duck Landing, at Lake Manitou, for several years. She served on the United Way executive board, was chairwoman for several Fulton County clubs and organizations, was active with the Salvation Army and was a member of the Fulton County Ham Radio XYL and Saltminer Ham Radio XYL. She was founder and president of Womens Nationwide and Honderus Ham Radio "2 Minerette Club." She enjoyed music and was a member of the Sharps and Flats Music Club and First Baptist Church, Rochester. Surviving with her husband, at home, are two daughters, Carolyn K. BAILEY, Akron, Diana S. Van NORSTRON, Vevay; one son, Randy M. ALDERFER and wife Elaina, Rochester; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Louise SKIDMORE, Rochester; one brother, Ernest KNIGHT and wife Mary, Macy. She was a member of the JAMES, KNIGHT, ALDERFER and WILLARD families. Services are at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Foster & Good Funeral Home, Rochester, with Rev. Ron PURKEY officiating. Burial is at Richland Center Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today at the funeral home and one hour prior to services. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the hungry and homeless.
