Clifford J. Alden
Clifford J. Alden, 79, Sioux City, a retired livestock commission man, died June 5, 1976, at an Elk Point, S. D. nursing home after a long illness.
Mr. Alden was born April 25, 1897 in Dubuque, and has been a resident of Sioux City since 1910. He married Loretta Forrette in Dakota City on Jan. 24, 1916. He was a member of the Livestock Exchange and operated the Allen Cattle Co. until his retirement in 1962.
Survivors are his wife: two daughters, Mrs. Cyrus (Priscilla) Knapp of Westfield, and Mrs. J. R. (Harriett) Cody of Yankton, S. D., one sister Dorothy Alden of Chicago, Ill.; 11 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.
The Heaton-Westcott funeral home has charge of arrangements. The will be cremated,and there will be no service.
A memorial fund in Mr. Alden's name has been established with the American Cancer Society.
