Death: Mar. 25, 1864

A descendant of at least six Mayflower passengers including John & Priscilla (Mullins) Alden. Son of Solomon & Sarah (Hall) Alden, husband of 1) Elizabeth Miller, m. Nov 14, 1793, & 2) Vodicia Hayford, m. Mar 22, 1804, both buried in Great Woods Graveyard, Bridgewater, MA.

In 1839, Noah came west with brother-in-law to Jubilee Twp. Appointed Justice of the Peace in 1843 at age 77.

Noah was very old at the beginning of the Civil War and always walked with two canes. However, when news of the firing on Fort Sumter came, he jumped out of his chair, unmindful of his canes, walked across the room, took down the musket and exclaimed, "Get my things, I'm going too and fight for the Union!"

Daughter from 1st marriage, Elizabeth Miller (Alden) Shaw, buried in Mount Hawley Cemetery.
