Social Reformer, Religious Leader. He was the founder of the Transcendentalism movement in the United States. An innovative educator, he was a leading slavery abolitionist, a women's rights advocate, a founder of a vegan community, an architect and artist, and author of several books. He was the father of "Little Women" author Louisa May Alcott.
