Margaret Ellen Alcock died of juvenile diabetes.
In sad but loving remembrance of my dear sister, Margaret Alcock, who departed this life five years ago, March 8, 1922.
Dearest Margaret, you have left us.
Left the home you loved so well;
But some day we hope to meet you
And together we shall dwell.
Friends may think we soon forget thee.
And our wounded hearts are healed
But they little know the sorrow
That's within our hearts concealed.
God called you home; it was His will,
But in our hearts you linger still.
Our love is just the same today
As in the hour you passed away.
In the graveyards softly sleeping,
While the flowers gently bloom,
Lies the one we loved so gently
In her cold and silent tomb.
We cannot forget you, dear Margaret,
While in this world we stay;
God surely knows our feelings
Since you have passed away.
Your place is vacant in our home,
The voice we loved is still;
And all that's left for us
Is your grave on a distant hill.
