Hope Gwen Albrook
Hope Gwen Albrook, 92, of Moscow, Idaho and former resident of Pullman, Idaho died of age related causes Monday at Good Samaritan Village in Moscow.
She was born January 25, 1904 to Allen and Laura Boomer at Delhi, Iowa.
She graduated from Cottonwood High School in Cottonwood, South Dakota in 1922. She then attended college in Spearfish, South Dakota and then taught school in Nebraska and St. Anthony, Idaho.
She married her childhood friend, Raymond L. Albrook June 9, 1932. They lived in Keokuk, Iowa, where she was a homemaker.
In 1948 they moved to Pullman where he became Director of Industrial Research at Washington State College, now University.
Following his death in 1957 she moved to Forks, Washington where she taught first grade. Upon her retirement in 1971 she returned to Pullman where she lived until 1992 when she moved to Good Samaritan.
She is survived by her son and his wife.
She was preceded in death by her siblings, Donavan Boomer, Hawley Boomer, Cleon Boomer, Adelaide Hockenbary, Daphne Sutfin, Faye Trask and Ruth Shepherd.
No services are planned at this time and the family suggests memorials be made to the Lewiston Boys and Girls Club, 1021 Burrell, Lewiston, Idaho 83501.
Short's Funeral Chapel of Moscow is in charge of the arrangements.
