Luella Grace "Sis" Albright, 80, a resident at Homewood at Martinsburg, formerly of Roaring Spring, passed away peacefully to be with the Lord at the home, surrounded by her loved ones, after a brief illness.

She was born in Roaring Spring, daughter of the late Orville and Sara (Mock) Yingling. After her mother's death, she was raised by her maternal grandparents, Emmet and Grace Mock. She married John Albright on July 2, 1952, in Cumberland, Md. He died July 1, 1999.

Surviving are four daughters: Susan Burk and husband, Mike, of Roaring Spring, Judy Lynn and husband, Mitch, of Martinsburg, Donna Crawford and husband, William, of New Enterprise and Amy Shaw and husband, David, of Staten Island, N.Y.; a daughter-in-law, Paula Albright of Duncansville; nine grandchildren: Michael Burk, Kalie (Lynn) Zabrosky, Breanne Lynn, Brant and Britta Albright, Chloe (Crawford) Stevenson, Ethan Crawford and Andrew and Ryan Shaw; three great-grandchildren: Emily and Kate Burk and Carter Stevenson; a sister-in-law, Melda Yingling of Fishertown; and stepbrother, Donald Yingling of Roaring Spring.

She was preceded in death by a son, Frank Albright in 1997; a grandson, Nathan Burk in 2001; a brother, James Yingling; four uncles with whom she was raised: Gerald, Maurice, Merle and Edward Mock; and a stepsister, Jeanette (Yingling) Quarry.

Luella was a 1949 graduate of Roaring Spring High School. Prior to her marriage, she had worked at Shaffer's and Hite's Drug Store, Roaring Spring. She was a member of Albright Church of the Brethren.

Sis was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and mother-in-law. She loved spending time with her family. She was loved by all who knew her for her kindness, pleasantness and willingness to always be there and lend a helping hand. She enjoyed doing puzzles, reading, taking rides in the country and bowling.

Friends will be received from noon to 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 2, 2012, at Homewood at Martinsburg Chapel, where a funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., officiated by the Rev. Jerry McCuller.

Interment will be made in Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.
