Matha Bette Albrecht Dozier, 90, joined her Savior on Friday, Aug. 5, 2011. Memorial service: 2 p.m. Tuesday at Shannon Rose Hill Funeral Chapel.
Bette, as she was known to her family and her church friends, was born to Martin and Alma Albrecht in Pottsville, where she graduated high school. She attended Tarleton State College but graduated from Kings Daughters Nursing School with an R.N. degree in nursing. She began her nursing career in Amarillo but moved to Fort Worth and was employed for 37 years at General Dynamics as an occupational health nurse. Bette retired from this position in 1983. Mrs. Dozier was married to Joe Jenkins Dozier on Jan. 14, 1947; he died on June 18, 1991. Bette was also preceded in death by her sister, Erna Albrecht Spitzenberger, and a very close friend, Nancy M. Stroud.
Survivors: Bette is survived by her care-giving nephew, Gary Dozier and his wife, Zoe, his son, Chad, daughter-in-law, Evelyn; close friend, Jim Stroud; and nephews from her sister's family, Adrian Spitzenberger and his family as well as Garland Spitzenberger and his family.
