Miriam Maxine Preece Albrand, age 86, passed away on June 12, 2003 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Born September 18, 1916, in Delaware, Oklahoma to Pearle Jeanette Cain Preece and Wm. Eveleigh Preece. She married William Wallace Albrand in the Salt Lake Temple of the LDS Church on November 26, 1941.
Her early life was spent in Independence, Kansas where she met her husband to be and converted to the LDS church. During World War II, while her husband served in the Army in Europe, she worked at the Topaz Relocation Camp, near Delta, UT. Thereafter, she worked as an executive secretary and teacher in Business College in Kansas and Utah. An active member of the Church, she served in many positions, and was renowned for her speaking ability, her intelligence and humor. She was a friend to all.
Their son, David Wallace Albrand of San Jose, CA and her daughter, Claudia Christensen of Layton, UT; survive her. She has eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren; and a million who would like to be her progeny. Her husband, Wallace, and daughter Pamela Jean Christensen, of Las Vegas, NV, preceded her in death.
Special thanks to her friends, Dalene Harris and Robert Bigelow, who made the final years in her own home both comfortable and possible.
Memorial Service will be held Thursday, June 19th at 12:00 noon at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 S. Highland Drive. Friends may visit with the family from 10:45-11:45 a.m. prior to the service. Interment, Valley View Memorial Park, 4335 West 4100 South.
