He was a member of Temple Shaarai Shomayim, Lancaster, B'Nai B'rith, Congregation Temple Beth El, Jewish Community Center, Meadia Heights County Club and Association of Independent Insurance Agents.
He was a lifemaster of the American Contract Bridge League.
He enjoyed classical music, flamenco dancing, golf and gourmet food.

He was married to Eleanor Schaffer Alboum for 57 years in October.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter, Carol, wife of Michael Gleiberman of Lancaster; a son, Barry of Lancaster; five grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and a brother, Harold of Philadelphia.
