Mrs. Hoffler was born in Portsmouth, VA, and was married for 45 years to the late N. Curtis "Tex" Hoffler, Jr. She was the daughter of the late Dr. Richard E. and Antoinette Schmidt Albert. Julia received her Degree in Biology from the College of Notre Dame of Maryland.
Jule was a lifelong member of St. Paul's Catholic Church and an active community volunteer. For over 15 years, Mrs. Hoffler volunteered with the Virginia Assoc. of Hospital Auxiliaries, holding many positions on the board including President in 1987-1988. She was a Pink Lady Volunteer with both Maryview and Portsmouth General Hospitals and was active in both hospitals' Auxiliaries. Jule served as a Board Member of Maryview Hospital and was the Chairperson of the Love Light Tree at PGH Auxiliary. She also participated with the St. Paul's School PTA and volunteered her time as Bookkeeper/Secretary at the church.
Survivors include her children, Cathy H. Warren, Fran H. Jones (Wayne) and Julie H. Anton (Tommy); her grandchildren, Brian Warren, Jr. (Ashley), Michael Warren, Curtis Jones (Paige) and Gregory Jones.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 3:00 p.m. Monday, September 12, 2011 at St. Paul's Catholic Church (High and Washington Streets) by the Rev. Jaroslaw Nowacki. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Portsmouth. A Christian Wake Service will be held at 5:00 p.m. Sunday in Foster Funeral Home, Portsmouth.
