His Legacy.Charles Akins Jr. passed away on April 16, 2008 in Oroville, CA. He was born to Charles and Bessie Akins on June 29,1945 in Oakland, CA. He graduated from Oroville High School in 1963 and was a Long Haul Truck Driver for 35 years. He was a Past Master of the DeMolay, loved to sing in the choir at the Trinity Presbyterian Church, was in the Boy Scouts and a supporter of 4-H.He collected stamps, raised steers and won several ribbons at the
Cow Palace in Sacramento for his steers.
His Family. Charles is the father of Charles Thomas Akins III and Melissa Lynn Akins, both of Fort Collins, CO. and the brother of Bill Akins of Klamath Falls, OR. He is preceded in death by his father, Charles Thomas Akins in 1966 and his brother Larry George Akins in 1973. Charles. family and friends will remember him as a very loving man that everyone called when they needed help.
His Farewell Service . Family and friends are gathering for a private service at a later time. Charles will be laid to rest at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Oroville. Arrangements have been entrusted to Oroville Funeral Home
