Mrs. Beatrice N. Akins, 82, died Tuesday at Bulloch Memorial Hospital in Statesboro after a long illness.
The native of Bulloch County had lived in Statesboro and was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church in Statesboro.
Surviving are six sons, Leffler H. Akins of Statesboro, Leo D. Akins of Waycorss, Levearn and Benjamin T. Akins, both of New Ellington, SC, Dedrick D. Akins of Waynesboro and Sgt. Ronald Akins of Stuttgart, Germany; five daughters, Mrs. Christine A. Birley of East Moline, Ill, Mrs. Johnie A. Wynn of New Ellington, Mrs. Sally A. Deal and Mrs. Bobbi A. Carver, both of Statesboro and Mrs. Barbara A. McNure of Metter; two brothers, Bennie E. and Paul E. Nessmith, both of Statesboro; a sister, Mrs. Lucille N. Smith of Metter; 30 grandchild and 16 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral: 2 p.m. Thursday at Smith-Tillman Mortuary in Statesboro, burial in Eastside Cemetery in Statesboro.
