Depluma Mae Akins Walker of Dalton died Sunday, Oct. 5, 2008 at Hamilton Medical Center. She was 96. She was the oldest member of Prospect Baptist Church of LaFayette. Survivors include her devoted and loving daughter, Betty Aiken of Dalton; nieces, Deloria Westfield, Aileen (Charles) Christopher of Chattanooga, Tenn., Kathleen Taylor, Mary Jane Burse of Dalton, Janice Tolliver of LaFay-ette, Ida Bell Little of Atlanta; nephews, Ray Allen (Imogene) Burse; two foster daughters, Bessie Jackson of LaFay-ette, Barbara Crawford of Dalton; other great-nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Services: Thursday, Oct. 9, at 2 p.m. at the chapel of Willis Funeral Home with Rev. Tyrus Chilsom and other min-isters officiating. Her remains will lie in state at the funeral home on Wednesday, Oct. 8, after 11 a.m. until the funeral hour on Thursday. Burial: West Hill Cemetery.
