He is survived by his wife, Betty Akins; sons, Chris Edward Akins, Randy D. Akins; stepdaughter, Patty Boyers; stepson, Johnny Coker; grandchildren, Jenny Owen, Chris Edward Akins Jr. and wife Lori, Andrea Akins, Katherine Akins, Nathan Akins, Brett Boyers and Chloe Coker; great-grandson, Conner David Edward Akins and Cooper Becket Akins; brother, John Akins. A funeral sevice will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Monday, August 8, 2011 at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home, 6321 Bandera Road San Antonio, Texas 78238 Officiating will be Pastor Jack Stevens. Interment will be at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin, Illinois.
