Robert M. (Mickey) Morrison, 36, his wife, Mrs. Patricia (Pat) Akins Morrison, 36, and their son, Robert Jayson Morrison, 7, all of 115 Rolling Oaks Dr., died instantly Sunday night from injuries sustained in a plane crash near Rome.

Mr. Morrison was born in Floyd County, Nov. 1, 1947, son of Robert C. (Bobby) Morrison and Jean Wood Morrison. He was a 1965 graduate of West Rome High School, a graduate of Georgia Tech and attended the Baptist Church. He was vice-president of Morrison Construction Company. He was married on June 29 to the former Patricia Akins.

Mrs. Morrison was born in Floyd County, Aug. 6, 1947, daughter of Howard O. and Nell Godwin Akins. She was a 1965 graduate of West Rome High School, a graduate of Berry College and of Georgia State University. She was a member of West Rome Baptist Church, was secretary-treasurer of the North Georgia Medical Society, and served as team mother for the Darlington Elementary School Football team. Mrs. Morrison was vice-president and program chairman of the Xi Beta Psi Sorority. At the time of her death, Mrs. Morrison was office manager for Drs. Gray, Dickinson and Routledge and was a lab technician at Floyd Medical Center.

Jayson was born on March 8, 1978, in Floyd County and at the time of his death was a second grade student at Darlington Lower School, where he was a member of the football team.

Survivors for the Morrison family include Mr. Morrison's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert C. (Bobby) Morrison, Rome; Mrs. Morrison's parents and family, Mr. and Mrs. Howard O. Akins, Rome, one brother, Greg Akins, Rome, grandmother, Mrs. C. M. Akins, Rockmart.

Join funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the West Rome Baptist Church with the Revs. Larry Draper and Melvin Smith officiating. Interments will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers for Mr. Morrison include Larry Maxey, Greg Jones, Bobby Bishop, Mike Meadows, Joe Roe, and Richard Lester.

Pallbearers for Mrs. Morrison include Dr. John Dickinson, Dr. James Routledge, Tim Collier, Randolph Oswalt, Jimmy Gentry, and Doyal Buffington.

Pallbearers for Jayson include members of his football team, his coaches, and his second grade classmates from Darlington Lower School.
