Her obituary was in the Leon Journal Reporter May 4, 1939 page 2.
It named her five children as Lyman, Fred, Dan and Helen of Des Moines and Floyd of Atlantic Iowa. All were present at the funeral including her only brother Charles Gardner of Leon. She was a graduate of the Leon high school and taught until her marriage. Early in her life she united with the Advent Christian church in Leon. After moving to Des Moines she placed her membership in the Univercity Church of Christ. She also had two grandchildren. She was laid to rest beside John.
