Mrs. Glady R. Halbritter, 85, Box 578, Altoona RD2, died Tuesday, July 30, 2002, at Altoona Hospital from injuries suffered in an automobile accident.

She was born March 21, 1917, in Altoona, a daughter of the late John and Bessie (Zinn) Akers. She married Richard K. Halbritter Jan. 26, 1939. He died Aug. 9, 1979.

Mrs. Halbritter was a member of Carson Valley Church of the Brethren where she was very active in church activities.

She was a 1934 graduate of Altoona High School.

Mrs. Halbritter was a member of the Blair Golden K(Kiwanis), Duncansville Golden Agers and Cross Keys Senior Citizens group.

Surviving are two sons: Robert K. and wife, Judith Ann, and Barry J. and wife, Marlene, all of Duncansville; 11 grandchildren: Scott, rick,Greta, Nichole, Melissa, Nanette, Kristie, Jendy, Tawney, Jennifer and Melinda; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Richard L. in 1998; and four siblings: Harry, Elwood, Herbert, and Joanne.

Friends will be received at Sorge Funeral Home Thursday and at the Carson Valley Church of the Brethren before the service which will be held at 11 a.m. Friday by Pastor David L. Miller.

Interment in Carson Valley Cemetery.
