Born August 24, 1939 in Kennett Square, PA, she was the daughter of the late Charles C. and Mary Love Bailey.
Mrs. Akerman was a member of the Frederick Church of the Brethren.
She is survived by her five children, Pamela Campbell and husband John of Frederick, Jennifer Nickle and husband Scott of Elkton, Gregory Akerman of Frederick, Cynthia Yoingco and husband Michael of Walkersville, and Kevin Akerman and wide KC of Mission Viejo, CA; seven grandchildren, Zane Campbell, Ashley Campbell, Amber Campbell, Lauren Nickle, James Nickle, Nicholas Yoingco and Wilson Yoingco; and a sister, Barbara Ross of Landenburg, PA. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Oppossumtown Pike, Frederick on Monday, Nov. 8 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 9 at 11:00 a.m. at the Frederick Church of the Brethren, 201 Fairview Avenue, Frederick. Internment will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick.
Memorial contributions may be expressed in the form of memorials to the , 1393 Progress Way, Eldersburg, MD 21784.
