Edward Lawrence Akerlund son if Peter and Johanna Akerlund was born February 24, 1884 and passed away of a heart attack July 8, 1956 at the age of 72 years, 4 months and 14 days.
He was married Sept 3, 1916 to Nannie Olson and to this union 3 children were born Lucille now Mrs Clifford Magnuson, Orville and Ivadell.
Ivadell preceded her father in death in 1922.
Mr. Akerlund was born and raised on the farm north of Center City, where he spent his entire life.
Besides his wife and two children he leaves to mourn two sisters Mrs Betty Johnson of Center City; Mrs Katy Engdahl of Minneapolis and two brothers George of Helena MT and Andres of Minneapolis, also three grandchildren, Margery and Duane Magnuson and Richard Akerlund, besides a host of nieces and nephews,
Funeral services were held at the Chisago Lake Lutheran Church on July 10 at 2:00 with Rev Benson officiating and soloist Mrs Kermit Christiansen. Pallbearers were Paul Peterson, Hilding Anderson, Paul Johnson, Emil Martinson, Roy Borg and Dennis Magnuson.
Burial was at the Chisago Lake Cemetery.
