Bernard Akeley Presque Isle 81. Husband of the late Jeannette (Bishop) Akeley, died 6-5-2002 at a Portland hospital. He was born 12-17-1920, in Presque Isle, the son of Henry and Myrtle (White) Akeley. He attended Grant Memorial United Baptist Church in Presque Isle. He had been employed by Aroostook Farms Dairy, Milliken Tomlinson and retired from Wettereau in 1982. He had resided in Westbrook for the last few years. He is survived by 2 sons and their wives, Carlton and Brenda Akeley of Millinocket and Brent Akeley and his wife Heidi of Westbrook, a brother Henry Akeley Jr. of Presque Isle, 3 grandchildren, 13 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and 5 step grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by 3 brothers, Carroll, Paul and Clifton, 3 sisters, Katherine Estey, Eleanor Condon and Althea Berry. Burial at Fairmount cemetery.
