Born Rose Marie Sottile in Brooklyn, Mrs. Ajello moved to West Brighton in 1968. A homemaker, Mrs. Ajello was the wife of Anthony Ajello, who founded the Pastosa Ravioli Co. in Staten Island and Brooklyn.
She was a member of the YMCA and enjoyed traveling and spending time in her condominium in Florida.
"She was a well-loved, well -respected, and everyone in the community loved her," said her son-in-law, Vincent D'Antuono.
Mrs. Ajello was a parishioner of Sacred Heart R.C. Church, West Brighton.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are a son, Michael; a daughter, Elizabeth D'Antuono; and seven grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Joseph.
The funeral will be held on Wednesday from the Casey Funeral Home, Castleton Corners, with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. Sacred Heart Church.
Burial will be in Moravian Cemetery, New Dorp.
