Jennie Robinson, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Robinson, was born March 23, 1853 at Pomeroy, Ohio, and at death was 68 years, 11 months and 24 days old. The family first moved to Cincinnati but later in 1872 they moved to St. Paul. She was united in marriage to Thomas R. Aiton of Glenwood, in St. Paul, May 8, 1879. They first settled at Glenwood and two years later came to Alexandria, where they have resided ever since. Mrs. Aiton was a devoted member of the Methodist Church and was president of the ladies aid society for many years. Finally finding it necessary to resign, however, on account of poor health. She was also a member of the Rebekah Lodge and of the Women's Auxiliary of American Legion.
Surviving the deceased are her husband, three sons and three daughters. The sons are William of this city; Arthur of Evansville; and John Aiton of Brainerd. The daughters are Mrs. B. A. Strieker of Cour de Alene, ID; Mrs. Hugh H. Brown of Wolford, ND and Mrs. E. J. Carlson of Little Falls. She also leaves two brothers, John and George Robinson of St. Paul, and two sisters, Mrs. Frank Morse of Alameda, CA and Mrs. Sidney Mason of Palo Alto, CA.
The remains accompanied by the husband and daughter, Mrs. Brown, arrived here Sunday. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon from Anderson's Chapel and the Methodist Church, Rev. Geo. A. Hauna officiating.
