Louise McMillan Aikin, a native of Mobile and longtime resident of Stockton, died March 4, 1999, in Spanish Fort. . She was a member of the Stockton Presbyterian Church, a former member of Government Street Presbyterian Church in Mobile. Aikin was retired from the Mobile Public School System After teaching for 25 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Gaston Aikin III. Survivors include a son, John Gaston Aikin IV of Chattanooga, Tenn.; three daughter, Louise Russell of Chattanooga, Jane Patterson of Pensacola and Sue Zundel of Montrose; 10 grandchildren, Ashley Aikin, Jay Aikin, Darrington Crane, Russ Russell, Ellen Fulkerson, Mae Patterson, Ken Drinkard, Bill Patterson, Susan Ham and Robert Zundel; eight great-grandchildren; and one sister, Thelma C. McMillan. A memorial service was held March 6 at the Stockton Presbyterian Church. The family prefers that memorial contributions be made to the building fund of the Stockton Presbyterian Church, P. 0. Box 438, Stockton, AL 36579.
