Ida June Davis Aiken, 87, of Orem, died Monday, May 3, 2004, at her home, surrounded by her family.
She was born August 5, 1916, in Orem, Utah, a daughter of Elwood and Sara Jane Millett Davis. She married Edwin M. Aiken, her high school sweetheart, on December 5, 1935, in Orem. The marriage was later solemnized in the Provo LDS Temple. He died December 13, 1998.
She has been a life long resident of Orem. She attended Spencer Elementary and graduated from Lincoln High School. She was a cheerleader for two years and was a great athlete, winning the Western States Tennis Championship. She was employed at Alpine School District for many years before retiring in 1978. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served as PTA President and was a member of the Orem Women's Club.
Survivors include her children, Annette (William) Cole, Golden, Colorado; JaLane (Richard) Olsen, Orem; Dale (Suzan) Aiken, Sandy; eight grandchildren, Carey Lyn Goff, Salt Lake City; Rock Carter, Lakewood, Colorado; Colby Brown, Lehi; Kemerey Sisam, Tyson Aiken, Cassidy Aiken, all of Salt Lake City; Shantel Landon, American Fork; and Tiffiny Olsen, Pocatello, Idaho; 11 great- grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 7th, at 12 noon, in the Walker Sanderson Funeral Home, 646 East 800 North, Orem. Friends may visit with family members from 10:45 to 11:45 a.m. prior to the services. Burial will be in the Orem City Cemetery.
