Phyllis I. Aiken, 77, Altoona, died Saturday at her residence after an extended illness.

She was born in Altoona, a daughter of the late William E. and Eliza R. (Blair) Harpster. She married Robert V. Aiken Feb. 14, 1953, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Hollidaysburg.

Surviving are her husband; three sons: Robert P. (Belinda) Aiken and William E. (June) Aiken, all of Altoona, and Joseph Vincent (Erin) Aiken of Windsor, Va.; five grandchildren: Tina, Jessica, William, Izabelle and Cassidy; a great-granddaughter, Lena; and a sister, Thelma Finochio of Altoona.

Mrs. Aiken was a homemaker. She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Altoona. She was also a member of William Penn Association and past member of Holy Rosary Christian Mothers and Legion of Mary.

Phyllis enjoyed crafts and spending time with her family and friends.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, March 2, 2010, at Jones Funeral Home, where a vigil for the deceased will be celebrated during the afternoon visitation. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 3, 2010, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Altoona, with Monsignor Michael Servinsky officiating.

Committal will be held at Blair Memorial Park, Bellwood, at the convenience of the family.
