Ahola Rites On Wednesday
Bruce Crossing--Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Ahola, 81, will be conducted at 1:30 Wednesday afternoon in the Paynesville Evangilical Lutheran church by the Rev. Arvo J. Karhonen. Friends may call at the Perry funeral home beginning this evening and until 11 a.m. Wednesday when the body will be taken to the church to lie in state. Mrs. Ahola died at 8:30 Saturday night at her home here after a short illness. She was born in Calumet April 23, 1870. The former Anna Margaret Schellman, she married Matt Ahola in Calumet October 25, 1890. The couple observed their golden wedding anniversary in 1940. They came to Bruce Crossing in April 1910 and had resided here since. Mr Ahola died April 3, 1946. Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Walter Tulppo, Mass, Mrs. Linda Sarvare and Mrs. Andrew Linna, Bruce Crossing, Mrs. John Tulppo, Detroit, Mrs. Gordon Uren, Calumet, two sons, Orville, Detroit, Howard, Bruce Crossing, 16 grandchildren and 16 great- grandchildren. A son, Irving, died May 23, 1923, and another son, Wallen, died, October 3, 1950.
