Salvatore enlisted in the US Army 8 May 1967, and took his training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina.
Arriving in Vietnam 5 March 1968, He was assigned to C Battery, 6th Battalion, 84th Artillery, 41st Artillery Group, 1 Field Force, USARV. The artillery compound was hit by hostile mortar fire and Salvatore died as a result of multiple fragmentation wounds to the body.
Salvatore died 12 days before his 19th birthday.
Survived by his mother, Concetta Santoro Agri and his sister, Josephine McKittrich of 174
Central Avenue, Apt #5, Chelsea, Massachusetts and other siblings, Jean, Dolores, Frank, Loretta and Joseph.
Father Salvatore Agri Sr was deceased.
