Foelke Aggen Chilton Times November 3, 1923

Mrs. Stinis J. Aggen, nee Foelke Bruns died at her home 1919 Park Avenue, New Holstein, Wis., on Tuesday, Oct. 23, 1923, aged 65 years, 6 mo. and 14 days, diabetes causing her demise. She was born at Eilsonn, East Friesland, Germany, April 9, 1858. In the spring of 1880 she came to America together with her widowed mother, grandfather, three brothers and two sisters; John, now of Sheboygan, Louis and Henry of Peoria, Ill., Mrs. Fred Sass, Plymouth, Wis., and the late Mrs. John Trowbridge of Chicago. They settled on a farm 2 miles southwest of the village of New Holstein, Wis.
On March 26, 1881, she became the happy bride of Mr. Stinus J. Aggen. Rev. L. Zenk, then pastor of the St. John's Reformed Church, New Holstein, Wis., in which Mr. and Mrs. Aggen up to their death held membership, tied the nuptial knot. Eleven children were born to this union, all surviving their parents, save one son who preceded them in death in infancy.
Mr. and Mrs. Aggen made their home on a farm two miles west of the village, later purchasing 40 acres just east of his father's farm, making this for many years their family home. Twenty-six years ago they moved upon the old Aggen homestead. Here the family lived until the spring of 1914, when they moved to the village where they had built themselves a new and spacious home on what is now known as Park Ave. Three years later Mr. Aggen passed away at the age of 57 years. During her last years of life Mrs. Aggen occupied her own little home formerly known as the Beyerstedt home.
All her surviving children were present at the funeral namely, Mrs. Rev. L. A. Moser, Harvard, Neb.; Mrs. Ella Fischer, Milwaukee, Wis.; Mrs. C. Guntly, Campbellsport, Wis.; Mrs. John Wyss, Loomis, Wis.; Arno Aggen, Aberdeen, S. Dakota; Carl, Edward, Hugo, Henry and Louis Aggen of New Holstein.
The funeral services were held from the home, the church, Sunday, her pastor, Rev. A. C. Plappert officiating, interment in the New Holstein cemetery beside her husband. The six sons who acted as pall bearers for their father also carried their mother to her last earthly resting place.
Besides her ten children, three brothers and one sister, eighteen grandchildren mourn her departure.
