It is with heavy hearts that George (Barb), Warren, and Brian (Jo-Ann) announce with her family by her side; the peaceful passing of their dear mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend on Sunday June 29, 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born on August 5, 1924 in Ikaalinen, Finland, Sylvi came to Canada with her family as a young girl.
She was predeceased by her mother Linda, father Vaino, brother Toisto, sister Eva, son Harold, grandson Kory and great grandson Kalan.
Sylvi is survived and will be greatly missed by George, Barb, Warren, Brian, Jo-Ann, Uncle Harry and his daughter, Pat as well as her daughter-in-law, Bell Lasn. Silvi is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks and admiration to Janet her PSW, and Kathleen her nurse for her continued care for mom and her support and guidance to our family. Thank you also to CCAC and the Northern Cancer Foundation at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre for all of their assistance and care.
Funeral services for the late Mrs. Sylvi Ager will be held on Thursday, July 3, 2014 at 1PM in the WESTFORT CHAPEL, 420 West Gore Street at James. Refreshments will follow the service before the interment in Riverside Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations made in memory of Sylvi to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Foundation – Northern Cancer Fund would be greatly appreciated.
