Lois G. Adams, 84, Humansville departed this life Thursday, October 28, 2010 at Moniteau Care Center, California, Missouri. She was born April 20, 1926 in Wheatland, the daughter of Eric and Myrtle (Cahow) Agee.
Lois graduated from Wheatland High School in 1943 and received a Bachelors of Science degree from Southwest Missouri State University in 1954. Lois was a teacher at Royal, Humansville, Stockton, Wheatland, Fair Play and Bolivar schools from 1943 until her retirement in 1981. She loved all her students and remembered all their names throughout her life.
Lois and Bruce Alvin Adams were married August 15, 1947 and to this union was born one son, Van Bruce Adams, on April 23, 1958. They made their home on a farm near Humansville.
She was a member of the Humansville Christian Church. After her retirement from teaching in 1981, Lois sold real estate and managed the family farms.
Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Alvin Adams, on September 11, 1971, as well as her parents, brother, Eric "Jiggs" Agee and sister, Mildred Louise Bigler.
She is survived by her son, Van Bruce Adams and wife, Taunia, with their children, Robert, Cortney, Quinn and Benjamin, all of California, Missouri; her sister-in-law, Roberta Agee; nieces, Dena Cover, Jennifer Agee, Jeanne Gail McDowell and Pamela Protenic, all of Kansas City; and nephews, Benny Bigler and Michael Bigler, both of Kansas City.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Sunday, October 31, 2010 at Murray Funeral Home, Humansville with Rev. Jack Sawyers officiating. Interment will be in Plum Grove Cemetery, south of Humansville. Visitation will be Sunday from 1:00 to 2:00 PM. Memorial donations may be made to Plum Grove Cemetery Fund, c/o Murray Funeral Home.
