Helen L. Johanning, 82, died April 2, 2010, at Promise Regional Medical Center ER, Hutchinson.

She was born Dec. 1, 1927, in Hutchinson, the daughter of Herbert and Gertrude Davis Aelmore.

She graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1945. Helen was a former supervisor at the Palace Countryside Bowling Alley for many years. She also worked at the State Fair selling tickets for Ye Old Mill for 35 years. She was a member of Medora Community Bible Church.

Helen was married to Eugene Willis Henderson. He preceded her in death. She then married Thomas R. Johanning. He died in March of 2002.

Survivors include: two daughters, Gena R. Smith and Mary K. "Kathy" Schlumbohm, both of Hutchinson; a sister, Marianne Deal of Hutchinson; four grandchildren, Ronnie Creason, Donette Hutson, Charity Ford, and Paul Sclumbohm; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Memorial service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 7th, 2010, at Elliott Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Wayne Johnson presiding. Burial will follow in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson. Friends may sign the book 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today through Tuesday. Cremation has taken place.

Memorials may be made to the Helen L. Johanning Memorial Fund in care of Elliott Mortuary.
