Mrs. Norrell was a nurse and held the rank of first lieutenant in the United States Army. She served during World War II in England, France and Belgium from 1941 to 1946.
She later worked as a registered nurse at Wells Community Hospital, in Bluffton, and Ball Memorial Hospital, in Muncie. She was a member of the Scottsburg Presbyterian Church.
She was born June 30, 1918, in Wells County to Ernest W. and Lucy McIntire Adsit.
Survivors include a son, Gerald "Gerry" (Linda) Norrell, of Scottsburg; a brother, Howard (Pauline) Adsit, of Warren; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013, at Collins Funeral Home, in Scottsburg, with Rev. Peter Barnes-Davies officiating.
Burial will be at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery, in Arlington, VA.
