"Burial Monday For Mrs. Adoue - Last rites will be conducted Monday morning for Mrs. J.B. Adoue Sr., 78. Dallas woman, who died early Saturday in her apartment at Melrose Court, following a brief illness. Bishop Harry T. Moore, of the Episcopal Diocese of Dallas, will preach the funeral sermon at 10 a.m. at the house of her daughter, Mrs. H.B. Thomson, 4241 Bordeaux, Highland Park West. Burial will be in Grove Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Adoue was the wife of the late J. B. Adoue Sr., for many years president of the Nation Bank of Commerce, who died eight years ago. She was the former Miss Mary Neoscha Simpson, daughter of James Albert and Elizabeth Geils Dillard Simpson. She was born at Indianola, Texas, and was educated at Sam Houston Normal at Huntsville, now known as the Sam Houston State Teachers' College, the Huntsville Academy and the old French School at New Orleans. She had been a resident of Dallas since 1870 and married Jean Baptiste Adoue Sr. here on Jan 28, 1884. Mrs. Adoue was a charter member of the Dallas Woman's Club, and active worker for the Women's Organization for National Prohibition Reform and a member of the Episcopal Church. She is survived by three children, a son, Jean Baptiste Adoue Jr., who succeeded his father as head of the National Bank of Commerce; two daughters, Mrs. Geils Adoue Thomson, wife of H. B. Thomson, and Mrs. Pauline Adoue Hall, all of Dallas, and three grandchildren, Geils Adoue Thomson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomson, and Bertrand Allen Adoue and Jean Baptiste Adoue III, sons of Mr. and Mrs. J.B. Adoue Jr."
