Nellie "Marcine" Adney, 90, of Hartford City, IN, passed away at 3:55 PM on Sunday, December 15, 2013 at Persimmon Ridge Rehabilitation Center in Portland, IN. She was born on Thursday, November 22, 1923, in Grant County, IN. She married Howard Adney on Wednesday, May 06, 1942 in Montpelier, IN. Mrs. Adney attended Montpelier High School. She was a longtime resident of Hartford City, IN, moving to Bluffton, IN following the passing of her husband-Howard Leon Adney in 1994. Mrs. Adney was a member of the Assembly of God in Hartford City and had previously attended the Wesleyan Church where she taught Sunday school for several years. She had also taught several Bible Clubs and was involved in child evangelism. She had been a member of the Women's Christian Temperance Union, the Loyal Temperance Legion and a former member of the Progressive Home Demonstration Club. She had been a Den Mother for the Boy Scouts in Hartford City and was involved in Bible Clubs and Good News Clubs (Children's Evangelism).
Survivors include: Daughter - Sharon (husband, Howard) Moriarity, Bluffton, IN., Daughter - Carolyn (husband, Bill) Rains, Hartford City, IN., Daughter-in-law - Ellen Adney, Hartford City, IN., Grandchildren- Mike Moriarity, Bluffton, IN., Jeff Moriarity, Hallsville, MO., Robie Ring, Ossian, IN., Lindsey Rains, Jasper, IN., Lisa Emmerick, Portland, IN., Scott Adney, Hartford City, IN., - Skip Adney, Hartford City, IN.and Step Grand-Daughter Jennifer McKinley, Pekin, IN., 14 Great Grandchildren, 4 Step Great Grandchildren and 5 Great Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her: Husband - Howard Leon Adney, Mother - Grace (Hoover) Egly, Father - Harry Egly, Sr., Son - Dale Adney, Sister - Violet Elizabeth Dearduff, Brother - Harry Egly, Jr., Sister - Betty Wilcoxon, Brother - Arthur Egly, Brother - Robert E. Egly and Grandchild - Marty Ring.
Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home 109 W Windsor St Montpelier on Friday, December 20, 2013 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM and from 1:00PM to 2:00PM on Saturday, December 21, 2013, an hour before the service.
A service to celebrate Marcine's life will be at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home at 2:00 PM on Saturday, December 21, 2013 with Pastor Mark Dauterman officiating. Interment will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Montpelier.
