The son of Philip V. & Matilda (Stark) Admire, he married Mary Catherine Buck on December 11, 1866 in Greene Co., Illinois.
Mustered in August 4, 1861, Co. G, 59th Regt, private, 22 years of age, 5'10", light hair & complexion, blue eyes, a farmer lliving in Woodville, Greene Co., Illinois. He reinlisted on November 22, 1863 at Witeside, Tennesee, and was promoted to Sergeant on September 1, 1865. He mustered out Dec. 8, 1865 at Camp Butler in Springfield, Illinois.
