Alfred M. Adler, 85, passed from this life on January 22, 2006. He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church.
Al enjoyed his family, traveling, camping, cooking, fishing, and photography.
Al was born in Evansville on June 20, 1920 to Louis Adler and Adrienne (Coutant) Adler. He retired from Bucyrus-Erie after 42 years. Al was a WWII veteran having served aboard the USS Blackhawk in the Pacific Theater getting his honorable discharge in 1945. Al belonged to the American Legion and VFW Post 1114.
Al is survived by his wife of 63 years, Wilma C. (Billie) Adler (Walls) and three children; Connie Brady of Santa Claus, IN, Don Adler and wife, Sherry of Wadesville, IN, Mark Adler and wife, Beverly of Haubstadt, IN; grandchildren, Linda Williams, Kevin and Di Koch, Ryan and Sarah Hasenour, Adrienne Adler, Joshua Adler, Lindsey Adler, Adam Adler, Aaron Adler; step-grandchildren, Joe and Janice Brady, Mark and Dawn Hiner; and 5 great-grandchildren; he is also survived by his cousins, Roy, Ronald and Norwood (Woody) Adler.
He was preceded in death by sons-in-law, Eugene Koch and Jerry Brady and granddaughter, Eugenia Koch.
Prayers will be at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, January 25, 2006 at Alexander West Chapel followed by a funeral mass at 11:00 A.M. at St. Anthony Church, officiated by Fr. Jay Davidson with entombment at Alexander Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Friends may call Tuesday, January 24, 2006 at Alexander West Chapel from 2:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. with a memorial service at 7:00 P.M. officiated by Fr. David Nunning.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Anthony Church or the VNA Charlier Hospice Center.
