She married Rev. Leslie Hames, Jr. on 1 September 1949 at Enid, Oklahoma.
She was an art teacher and homemaker and active in the McKinney community. She was a member of the First Christian Church in McKinney, the Edelweiss Club, the Pyrolese Club, the Heritage Guild, and the Art Club, She was active in the Education Secretaries and Aides Association.
Her husband moved to Graham, Texas in the 1950s where he pastored the First Christian Church.
Survived by her husband; Rev. Leslie Hames; two sons - Mark Hames and Paul Hames; one daughter - Meredith Miller; three grandchildren; one brother - William Adkisson; five nephews.
