Mr. Adkinson died at 1:15 a.m. Wednesday, March 25, 2009, at Western Baptist Hospital. He was a member of the Free-Spirit Church in Paducah, served for six years in the U.S. National Guard and retired pipefitter with the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local No. 184.
He is survived by his wife, Sandy Adkinson of Reidland; one daughter, Erin Thomasson of Sharpe; one son, D.J. Adkinson of Reidland; mother, Verla Owens of Hamletsburg, Ill.; one sister, Glenda Neftgzer of Hamletsburg, Ill.; and three grandchildren, Kali and Jada Adkinson of Reidland and Taylor Thomasson of Sharpe.
He was preceded in death by one son, Doug Adkinson; his father, David A. Adkinson; and one brother, Stanley Adkinson.
