Edward Lee Adkins Sr., of Stringtown Road, Williamsburg, Kentucky departed this life on Monday, March 1, 2010 at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville, Tennessee. He was 77 years, 10 months and 13 days of age. He was born on April 18, 1932 in Whitley County, Kentucky to the late Morgan and Rose (Prewitt) Adkins. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force having served in Korea. He was a member of the United Auto Workers and a member of Mt. Ash Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife Shirley (Leach) Adkins of Williamsburg, Kentucky; his son, Edward Lee Adkins Jr. and his wife Jean of Williamsburg, Kentucky; four grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; one brother, James Adkins and his wife Nadine of Taylor, Michigan; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
